Umicore SA (formerly Union Mining Group) is a global materials technology headquartered in Brussels, Belgium.
Formed in 1989 by the merger of four companies in the mining and smelting, Umicore has since transformed into a more business-oriented technology which includes areas such as refining and recycling precious metals and manufacturing specialt products such as cobalt, germanium, zinc, etc.. To symbolize this trend away from mining and towards the production of precious metals bars for example, Union Mining Group has changed its name to Umicore in 2001.

The gold bars Umicore are certified by the LBMA (London Bullion Market Association) as they are listed on the "LBMA Gold List." This list evaluates the quality of bars and certify if they comply with the standards set by the LBMA and therefore allowed on the London Bullion Market. The Gold List of the LBMA, by far the most important and renowned in the world, is the international benchmark for this market.
