PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The Mexican National Mint, La Casa de Moneda de Mexico produced the 20 peso gold coins between 1917 and 1959. Over 7.4 million coins were minted during this period.

Similarly, there were additional re mints of this coin between 1960 and 1971 and in 1996. These coins are considered to be the finest gold coins produced and are very popular with investors and collectors.

In addition, the 20 pesos coin features the Aztec calendar, also known as the Sun Stone, which is a disc measuring 3.60 m in diameter and 1.22 m thick. It weighs 16.66 grams, has a diameter of 27.5 mm and a grade of 900‰ pure gold.

The value of the 20 Pesos Gold coin is calculated according to the gold price, it is the indicative intrinsic value according to the weight of the gold, without taking into account the quality, supply and demand and the possible rarity of it.

OBVERSE :

The obverse of the coin shows an eagle in profile, facing left, with the legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" meaning "UNITED MEXICAN STATES".

REVERSE :

The reverse of the coin features an Aztec calendar surrounded by the value "VEINTE PESOS" and the fine gold weight "15G. ORO PURO." This stone, discovered by chance in 1790 in Mexico City, is believed to be a sacrificial altar carved during the reign of the Aztec emperor Axayácatl.
