HISTORY :

Caius Marcius Censorinus is identified as one of Marius' supporters. He accused Sylla of embezzlement on his return from the East. As one of the leaders of the Marianist party, he entered Rome with Marius and Cinna in 87 BC and was one of the main instigators of the ensuing massacres. True to the memory of Marius, he fought against Sylla, but was taken prisoner at the Battle of the Hill Gate in 82 BC before being executed.
