PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

The 50 Francs silver coin like Hercules (the original name is "Dupre") was created by Augustin Dupre for the first coins of the French Republic. Dupre was named general engraver for currencies by decree from the National Assembly on July 11, 1791, following a competition launched after the Revolution.

An olive branch and the inscriptions LIBERTY EQUALITY FRATERNITY. Hercules bearded and half-naked, standing facing with the lion skin.

On his left shoulder is a lion's paw. On his arm and around his waist is the skin of the Nemean lion. Behind Hercules' legs are the tail and the paws of the lion, uniting liberty standing on the left holding a pike surmounted by a Phrygian cap and wearing a peplos.

The Equality standing on the right, holding a level, wearing a chiton. Below is the highlight Dupré signed in cursive between two points, loose legend, starting at the drape of the Liberty.

French Republic. 50 FRANCS written in two lines which is contained in a ring composed of a laurel branch on the left and an oak branch on the right. They are tied together at the base by a ribbon. Below is two points flanking the vintage in the middle.
