Despite a production figure of 443,845 coins, to which must be added 3,918 examples minted in 1940 in the previous year's mintage, this coin remains extremely rare because the production had to be recast.

OBVERSE :

TITLE: REPUBLIQUE FRANÇAISE.

Description: Right profile of the Head of the Republic with short hair, wearing a laurelled Phrygian cap; signed P TURIN below the neck along the scroll.

REVERSE :

Between two vertical ears of wheat, the face value 20 FRANCS and its year 1939 in three lines, separated from the republican triad LIBERTE / EGALITE / FRATERNITE, also in three lines, by two leaves of ears meeting.
