ITALIE - ROYAUME DE SARDAIGNE

Ce type est fabriqué suite au décret du 9 février 1850. Ces pièces furent démonétisées par l'arrêt du 21 décembre 1927. Seulement un peu plus de 20.000 pièces furent frappées entre 1850 et 1860 pour Gênes (600 pièces) et Turin ce qui explique la rareté de ce type.

Victor-Emmanuel II (14/03/1820-9/01/1878), fils de Charles-Albert et de Thérèse de Toscane, succède à son père qui a abdiqué en 1849.
En douze ans, avec l'aide de Cavour et l'alliance de la France, il va reconstituer le royaume d'Italie à son profit en 1861 mais il ne prend Rome qu'en 1870.
