OBVERSE :

Description: Left profile of the Republic as Ceres, goddess of the harvest, wearing a pearl necklace, a double bun, and a composite crown of wheat, flowers, olive and olives, oak and acorns.
She wears a ribbon descending on the neck and passing on the forehead where the word CONCORD is inscribed; under the edge of the neck along the scroll E.A.OUDINÉ.F.

REVERSE :

Description: 5 FRANCS on two lines, above the year 1870, the whole in a crown tied by a ribbon at its base, formed on the left of a laurel branch, on the right of an olive branch; below the knot the letter of workshop A surrounded by the different of the General Engraver and Albert RENOUARD DE BUSSIERE.
