The Seymour Unicorn Silver 2 Ounce Coin is the fourth coin in the Royal Mint's Royal Tudor Beasts collection. This collection features the ten statues of 'beasts' that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court and represent the families of the King's line.

The Seymour unicorn is a symbol of purity and fertility, given by Henry VIII to Jane Seymour. With the body of a horse, the tail of a lion, the hooves and beard of a goat, and a spiral horn, it wears a royal crown and is decorated with daisies and roses, which distinguishes it from the Scottish unicorn. The Unicorn bears a six-quartered shield of the Seymour family and is fitted with a gold collar and chain, depicting the taming of a wild creature.

The Seymour Unicorn Silver 2 Ounce Coin contains exactly 2 troy ounces (62.2 grams) of 999.9 pure silver. The coin will be in production for a few months until the next coin in the series is released. Collectors should therefore buy it as soon as possible in order to obtain all the coins in the series.

OBVERSE :

The obverse of the coin features the official portrait of His Majesty King Charles III, designed by Martin Jennings.

REVERSE :

Designed by David Lawrence, the reverse of the coin depicts the unicorn of Jane Seymour's household, with an animated chainmail background texture offering additional security.
