Features of the Krugerrand 1/4 ounce Gold coin

First produced in 1986, the Australian 1/4 ounce Gold Nugget (also known as the Kangaroo) is currently the only legal tender that changes its design every year and limits its annual mintage.
Each year, each coin receives a new design.
New designs are introduced annually for numismatic proofs and these designs are then used to mint bullion coins the following year.

The design of the Gold Nugget changed in 1989 to feature Australia's most recognisable animal, the kangaroo.
For this reason, the coin is called both the Australian Nugget and the Kangaroo.
The original is "the australian nugget".

The years and/or effigies of these coins are sent randomly depending on our stocks.
As these are bullion coins and not collector coins, their years or effigies have no impact on their value or resale price.
