Product Details : Royal Tudor Beasts Yale de Beaufort 2 Ounce Silver 

Following the success of the Queen's Beasts Series, the Royal Mint decided to introduce a new series : the Tudor Beasts. The series, which began with the Lion of England, comprises a collection of 10 "beasts". 

The design of the ten beasts is based on the ten heraldic statues that line the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace and celebrate a fascinating period in British history. These sculptures were created to commemorate the marriage of Henry VIII to Jane Seymour and represent the power of the Tudor dynasty.

As such, the Beaufort Yale 2 Ounce Silver is the second piece in the prestigious Royal Mint's British Tudor Beasts series. The Royal Tudor Beasts collection is inspired by the stone sculptures on the Moat Bridge at Hampton Court Palace. The Beaufort Yale is a mythical beast with characteristics of a goat or antelope. 

According to legend, the horns of the mythical Yale can turn independently, and white and gold spots cover the creature. 

OBVERSE :

The obverse of the coin features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark, her name and the initials of her title, and the face value of the coin.

REVERSE :

The reverse of the coin features David Lawrence's design of the Yale of Beaufort behind a shield on a textured chain mail background (which gives the coin extra security), the inscriptions "YALE OF BEAUFORT", "2 OZ FINE SILVER 999.9" and the year of issue.
