PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
The Mexican National Mint, La Casa de Moneda de Mexico produced the 2.5 peso gold coins from 1918 to 1948. This one represents the 2nd series of this coin.
It is very different from the first series, apart from the diameter, the characteristics of the weight, gold denomination, obverse and reverse are different.
This gold coin weighs a little over 2 grams for a grade of 900‰ pure gold, its diameter is 15.5 mm.
The year is not included on the obverse and on the reverse, it features the profile of Miguel Hidalgo y Costilla (1753-1811) a famous Mexican priest and patriot leader of the Mexican War of Independence.
The value of the 2.5 Peso Gold coin is calculated according to the gold price, which is the indicative intrinsic value based on the weight of the gold, without taking into account the quality, supply and demand and possible rarity of the gold.
Prized by numismatists, this small 2.5 Mexican peso gold coin is ideal to start a collection !
