Minted between 1612 and 1620, this modern day gold coin will be a perfect addition to your numismatic collection and you will become one of the few people to own a double gold sovereign Albert and Isabella.
Albert was the Archduke of Austria between 1559 and 1621 and married Isabella Claire Eugenie of Austria in 1599. They were immediately appointed governors of the Netherlands.
OBVERSE :
On the obverse of this exceptional numismatic coin are depicted Albert and Isabella with crowned heads. Albert holding a sword in his right hand and Isabella holding a sceptre in her right hand.
The titulation reads: ALBERTUS. ET. ELISABET. DEI. GRA-TIA. ARCH-IDVCES.
REVERSE :
On the reverse side of this royal coin, we can distinguish a shield with multiple quarters surrounded by the collar of the Order of the Golden Fleece and crowned with a crown cutting the legend at the top.
The title reads: AVSTRIAE. DVC-ES. BVRG-VN-DIAE. ET. DOM. TORNA Z., which means of Austria dukes of Burgundy and lords of Tournai.
